Special Weather Statement issued June 6 at 4:35PM CDT by NWS Chicago IL Gusty westerly winds of 35 to 45 mph will continue through this afternoon. Winds of this magnitude will blow around light objects, down small tree branches, and generate hazardous travel conditions for high profile vehicles, especially on north-south oriented roads. Additionally, these winds are also generating instances of blowing dust and may lead to locally reduced visibilities under 1 mile at times. Use caution if traveling along north-south oriented roads and if traveling in open areas, particularly around freshly tilled fields.
