Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau affecting Jackson, Union, Perry, Alexander, Scott and Cape Girardeau Counties. .Heavy rainfall through the Missouri and Mississippi Valleys have cause a small rise on the Mississippi River. The river will rise above flood at Cape Girardeau late on Wednesday and crest just slightly above the 32 foot flood stage Friday morning. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau. * WHEN...From Wednesday evening to early Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 32.0 feet, Minor flooding occurs. The Mississippi River backs into several creeks producing flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 AM CDT Tuesday the stage was 31.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow evening to a crest of 32.5 feet early Friday morning.
