Northeastern Douglas County in northeastern Colorado... * Until 845 PM MDT. * At 550 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 inches in 30 minutes. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, gulches, roads, and poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Southern Aurora, southeastern Centennial, Castle Rock, Parker, The Pinery, Franktown, Castle Pines, Sedalia and Foxfield. This includes the following streams and drainages... Jackson Creek, Cherry Creek, Kinney Creek, Newlin Gulch, East Toll Gate Creek, Bayou Gulch, Coal Creek, West Toll Gate Creek, Plum Creek, East Plum Creek, Willow Creek, Happy Canyon Creek, Garber Creek, Murphy Creek, Piney Creek and Running Creek. In northeast Colorado, southwestern Arapahoe and northeastern Douglas. * WHEN...Until 745 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and creeks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 448 PM MDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rain in the advisory area due to thunderstorms. This is causing urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas have already caused minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Southwestern Aurora, eastern Centennial, Parker, Arapahoe Park and Foxfield.
