Flood Watch issued June 21 at 11:28AM CDT by NWS Omaha/Valley NE ...The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley NE has issued a Flood Watch for the following rivers in Nebraska...Iowa...Missouri... Missouri River At Nebraska City affecting Fremont and Otoe Counties. Missouri River Near Blair affecting Pottawattamie, Harrison and Washington Counties. Missouri River At Omaha affecting Pottawattamie, Douglas and Sarpy Counties. Missouri River At Brownville affecting Nemaha and Atchison Counties. Missouri River At Decatur affecting Monona and Burt Counties. Missouri River at Plattsmouth affecting Mills and Cass Counties. Missouri River At Rulo affecting Richardson and Holt Counties. .Very heavy rainfall occurred in eastern South Dakota and northwest Iowa overnight. Rainfall amounts of 4 to 6 inches were common over a large area with some areas reporting over 7 inches of rain or more. The runoff from this rain could potentially bring the Missouri River, below Gavins Point Dam, well into flood stage. More rain is expected today and again tonight, only worsening the situation. Due to the large amount of water coming down the river, the river will not crest until mid to late next week with some locations reaching moderate flood stage. * WHAT...Flooding is expected. * WHERE...Missouri River near Blair. * WHEN...From Monday afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, Industrial companies along the river near Blair begin to be significantly impacted. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 19.4 feet...or 7.1 feet below flood stage. - Forecast...Flood stage may be reached Monday afternoon. - Flood stage is 26.5 feet.
