Flood Watch issued June 25 at 3:16PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central, and southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in central Kansas, Barton, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Marion, McPherson, Rice, Russell and Saline. In east central Kansas, Chase. In south central Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner. In southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional storms are expected to develop over southern Kansas late this afternoon and evening. These storms will produce high rainfall rates that may lead to flooding. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flood Warning issued June 25 at 2:59PM CDT until June 27 at 3:15PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas... Fall River at Fredonia affecting Wilson County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Fall River at Fredonia. * WHEN...From late tonight to Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 27.0 feet, Flood waters begin to encroach on residential homes and floods half of yards along the south bank of river located 1 mile south of Fredonia off of Highway 96. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 6.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage just after midnight tonight to a crest of 26.9 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued late tonight at 300 AM CDT.
