Flood Warning issued June 26 at 5:33AM CDT until June 26 at 12:00PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kansas, including the following county, Neosho. * WHEN...Until noon CDT Friday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 533 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chanute, Erie, St. Paul, Thayer, Galesburg, Earlton, Lake Parsons, South Mound and Chanute Airport. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Neosho River near Chanute affecting Allen and Neosho Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Chanute. * WHEN...From this morning to late Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 28.5 feet, Flood waters may flow across old Highway 169 north of Chanute. Agricultural flooding will also occur. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Friday the stage was 24.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 29.2 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued this evening at 915 PM CDT.
