Strong thunderstorms will be near... Jackson, Canton, Gluckstadt, Annandale, and Brownsville around 930 PM CDT. Bolton around 935 PM CDT. Madison around 940 PM CDT. Ridgeland around 945 PM CDT. Clinton around 950 PM CDT. Goshen Springs around 955 PM CDT. Pisgah around 1000 PM CDT. Fannin around 1005 PM CDT. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Jackson, Brandon, Flowood, Fannin, Goshen Springs and Pisgah. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Jackson, Clinton, Madison, Ridgeland, Canton, Flowood, Gluckstadt, Pocahontas, Pisgah, Annandale, Goshen Springs, and Fannin. Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. If on or near Ross Barnett Reservoir, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Severe thunderstorms can produce large capsizing waves, even on small bodies of water. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
