Flood Watch issued June 8 at 10:18AM CDT until June 8 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Goodland KS An area of slow moving thunderstorms is expected to develop this afternoon generally north of Interstate 70 in northwest Kansas and southwest Nebraska. These storms will be capable of producing rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches as they move east and southeast through this evening. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...Portions of northwest Kansas, including the following counties, Decatur, Graham, Norton, Rawlins, Sheridan and Thomas and southwest Nebraska, including the following counties, Hitchcock and Red Willow. * WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 8 at 3:18PM CDT until June 8 at 3:30PM CDT by NWS Goodland KS At 317 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 4 miles south of Cambridge, or 22 miles east of McCook, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Indianola, Bartley, and Lebanon. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for northwestern Kansas...and southwestern Nebraska. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Goodland. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
