Special Weather Statement issued June 8 at 4:58PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI At 457 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Lansing to near La Farge to 11 miles northeast of Richland Center. Movement was north at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Viroqua and La Farge around 500 PM CDT. New Albin around 505 PM CDT. Westby around 510 PM CDT. Hillsboro around 520 PM CDT. Cashton, Stoddard, and Coon Valley around 525 PM CDT. Brownsville around 535 PM CDT. La Crosse around 540 PM CDT. Hokah around 545 PM CDT. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph. If a funnel cloud is spotted move indoors and report your sighting to the National Weather Service.
