Heat Advisory issued July 19 at 11:57AM CDT until July 19 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Duluth MN * WHAT...Heat index values up to 90 expected. * WHERE...In Minnesota, Crow Wing, Aitkin, Pine, Koochiching, Cass, Itasca, Carlton, St. Louis, and Northern Cook and Lake Counties. In Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Sawyer, and Washburn Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the Fond du Lac Band, the Bad River Reservation, the Red Cliff Band, the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation, the St. Croix Band in Burnett County, the Mille Lacs Band, East Lake, Hinckley, Lena Lake and, Big Sandy Lake areas and the Bois Forte Band, Deer Creek, Nett Lake and, Lake Vermilion areas. Other locations including Madeline Island, the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and Voyageurs National Park. Air Quality Alert issued July 18 at 9:30AM CDT by NWS Duluth MN The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an Air Quality Advisory for the following counties: Adams, Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Brown, Buffalo, Burnett, Calumet, Chippewa, Clark, Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Door, Douglas, Dunn, Eau Claire, Florence, Fond du Lac, Forest, Grant, Green, Green Lake, Iowa, Iron, Jackson, Jefferson, Juneau, Kenosha, Kewaunee, La Crosse, Lafayette, Langlade, Lincoln, Manitowoc, Marathon, Marinette, Marquette, Menominee, Milwaukee, Monroe, Oconto, Oneida, Outagamie, Ozaukee, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Portage, Price, Racine, Richland, Rock, Rusk, Sauk, Sawyer, Shawano, Sheboygan, St. Croix, Taylor, Trempealeau, Vernon, Vilas, Walworth, Washburn, Washington, Waukesha, Waupaca, Waushara, Winnebago, Wood. * WHAT...The PM2.5 AQI is expected to reach the Very Unhealthy (Purple) to Unhealthy (Red) level. * WHERE...Statewide. * WHEN...Until noon Monday. For Very Unhealthy (Purple) AQI: Sensitive groups: Avoid all physical activity outdoors. Reschedule to a time when air quality is better or move activities indoors. People with asthma: Follow your asthma action plan and keep quick- relief medicine handy. People with heart disease: Symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue may indicate a serious problem. If you have any of these, contact your health care provider. Everyone else: Limit outdoor physical activity. Go indoors if you have symptoms. For Unhealthy (Red) AQI: Sensitive groups: Consider rescheduling or moving all activities inside. Go inside if you have symptoms. People with asthma: Follow your asthma action plan and keep quick- relief medicine handy. People with heart disease: Symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, or unusual fatigue may indicate a serious problem. If you have any of these, contact your health care provider. Everyone else: Keep outdoor activities shorter and less intense. Go inside if you have symptoms. Additional Details: Another round of smoke will move in from the north-northeast throughout the day on Saturday before settling over the state on Sunday. Most areas are expected to observe Unhealthy (Red) AQI PM2.5, with the heaviest impacts to the northeast where Very Unhealthy (Purple) AQI PM2.5 will be possible. Some areas to the southwest may only experience Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups (Orange) AQI PM2.5. This round of smoke may not reach the southwestern half of the state before sunset Saturday, meaning the smoke will arrive overnight, with statewide impacts expected by 6 a.m. Sunday morning.
